Frequently Asked Questions
What is a clarity call?
It’s a confidential space with you and the coach to answer any questions you may have and thus see if coaching really is for you at this moment in time. It’s also an opportunity to bring forward a goal you may have and try out the ToBridge Coaching methodology to search for ways to achieve it, bridging the gap between your current and desired state.
What is coaching?
Coaching is a focused process to achieve a desired goal. Simple as that.
Who is coaching for?
Coaching is for those willing to change for the better. Mind you, that process is not always a smooth road. In fact, most of the time it’s one with uphills, downhills and sharp curves. It requires courage to recognise one’s old habits and to come up with ways to reframe them so that the final goal can be achieved – and maintained in the long run!
Is coaching the same as therapy?
Nope, it isn’t. While therapy is for healing, coaching is for growing. That means that coaching focuses on the present and the future (you visualise – with all your senses – that desired goal), as opposed to therapy which focuses on the past. Also, in coaching YOU are the expert – and thus the coach guides you to find the answers within yourself -, whereas in therapy the psychologist is the expert that advises you to take x, y, z action.
Is coaching applicable to all industries?
Yes, it is! How beautiful is that?! You can be working in education, engineering, marketing or tourism. You can be a sports person or an entrepreneur. You can be starting your working life, have 10 years of experience or 30+! You may want to work on developing your communications skills, polish the leader within you or be more organised! And coaching can be relevant in all those circumstances. Do you know why? Because the experts in the field are YOU. As a coach, my expertise lies in guiding your process to find your own answers to your questions, helping you achieve a certain level of self-understanding so that you can continue your journey along. Also, coaching can work well in collaboration with existing projects and/or to create something in alliance with others. It’s a win-win!
